Plant Spring Containers |

Now is the ideal time to brighten up your porch or patio by planting a few spring flowering containers.
You may use winter flowering pansies, violas, primroses, spring flowering bulbs, heathers, ivies and range of other dwarf confiers and evergreens. See in store for current stock and availability |

Trim Heathers |
| |
|
Trim winter-flowering heathers that have finished flowering back to the base of the flower stems. |

Split Perennials |
| |
|
Split and replant congested perennials and herbs, discarding the woody growth in the center. |

Prune Grasses |
| |
|
Cut back deciduous grasses which have been left uncut over the winter period. |
 |

 |
Prune Hedges |
| |
|
Prune hardy evergreen hedges, and renovate overgrown deciduous hedges. |

Divide Snowdrops |
| |
|
Once snowdrops finish flowering lift and divide them whilst they still have green growth / foliage. |

Prune winter-flowering shrubs |

|
You can now begin to prune winter-flowering shrubs that have finished flowering, examples include: Viburnum, Prunus, Mahonia and Jasmine etc... you may also prune hardy evergreen trees and shrubs, and late summer-flowering clematis.
This is also the last month you can still take hardwood cuttings of ornamental shrubs such as Cornus, Salix, Forsythia, Weigela, Escallonia, Rosa, Ribes, Chaenomeles and Elaeagnus. |

Chit potato tubers |

Lay the tubers out in a single layer in a tray, placing the end with the most eyes or buds facing upwards.
Keep the tubers in a cool, frost-free environment with at a little light, such as in an unheated room. Direct sunlight is best avoided.
Once Sprouted, potatoes can be planted out from March onwards. |

Prepare vegetable seed beds, and sow some vegetables under cover before transplanting in few months time. |

Maintain Autumn and Winter Bedding |
